Provo River Trailhead is a scenic, pet-friendly haven located in the heart of Provo, Utah, perfect for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts alike. With access to the tranquil Provo River Parkway Trail, visitors can enjoy dog-friendly walking and hiking opportunities surrounded by lush greenery, beautiful mountain views, a soothing duck pond, and a small creek. The park’s expansive green lawns, shaded areas with mature trees, and multiple picnic spots make it a favorite for families, pets, and anyone seeking a peaceful retreat.
While the adjacent dog park area lacks grass and can sometimes have cleanliness issues, the larger park boasts plenty of open space for on-leash play and relaxation. Amenities include two playgrounds, tennis courts, pavilions with BBQ facilities, and ample parking. Easy access to Provo’s charming nature trails and wide-open fields makes this a great spot for walking, jogging, or simply spending quality time outdoors with your four-legged companions.
This trailhead is an absolute gem for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful morning walk, a long hike, or just a place to connect with nature, this spot delivers.

I love this place, it has a duck pond and a river, plenty of cool areas like a small creek and pavilions, some of the things I love doing here are going to the small creek at the back of the park, going under the overpass on the west side of the park to see the train tracks, and going to a hole in the fence on the east side of the park (please don’t fix it) and looking at the forest.
One problem that I have with the park is that the walkways are inconsistent and bumpy. Other than that, this park is a 5/5.

So much fun to walk and picnic on. I would suggest not going at night alone. Have seen some sketchy people hanging out in strange places if the path.
