What can I say but it’s the empire State trail, how bad can it be? Not bad at all it’s absolutely amazing. We should all be on our bikes riding the empire State trail every weekend. No cars. No horns. No stoplights but a few stop signs for crossing traffic. You never know what scenery you will see in another mile. If you don’t like riding a bike this trail will change your view literally. For an extra treat go with the height of Fall foliage. You will never want to go to Vermont..

Absolutely beautiful cycling and hiking trail. Nice paved path through the woods with some great views and sights to see. Quiet and relaxing and I usually don’t see many other people around. Great place to find some inner peace.

The weeds are starting to take over the edges of the bike trail, including poison ivy, so be careful. As far as walking or jogging, If you go on the trail on the northbound side, you will run to more mosquitoes and horse flies. If you head south from the parking lot near the train tracks on South Greenhaven, you will run into fewer mosquitoes and horse flies. Make sure you wear plenty of insect repellent.
Bike riding is much better, because the mosquitoes and horse flies can’t really keep up with you LOL

Great walk anytime of the year. A winter walk while you need to check the path for ice let’s you see for miles. Especially beautiful if the streams are running. Be sure to check out the old telegraph lines with the glass connectors. Enjoy the local shops after your walk

Fall 2023. Still a great trail but could use fall cleanup. @metro-north can you clean before winter
