West Slope Park is a quiet, hidden gem nestled in the West Slope neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. This small, well-maintained park is perfect for locals seeking a peaceful spot to walk their dogs, enjoy some shade, or let kids play on the mini playground. Known for its tranquil atmosphere and large grassy area, it’s ideal for off-leash play (in an almost totally enclosed space), casual strolls, and relaxing picnics in the heart of suburbia.
The park features paved walkways, shaded picnic tables, a children’s play structure, swings, a water fountain with a dog bowl, and ample lawn for pets to run. While parking is limited and there are no restrooms, the park is beautifully quiet, rarely crowded, and offers a serene neighborhood vibe with little traffic—making it best for those within walking distance. Connected trails and a charming wooden bridge add to the appeal, offering pet-friendly walks and easy access to nearby neighborhoods.
Very hard to find and very hard to find parking. I couldn’t even take my kids here because there was no parking. This is more of a park if you’re within walking distance. It doesn’t even look that nice either.
I live near the area so whenever I take my dog for a walk I always get a chance pass by this park. Overall, good spot to stop by when you’re strolling around the west slope neighborhood. Never crowded and very quiet as it is slightly hidden within the neighborhood. There is a mini playground, swingset, and a few places to sit making it a decent place for kids/pets for playing.
This park is a hidden gem. It has everything to keep a little kid or toddler busy and is never crowded. In fact, I’ve never seen anybody else here. The park is also very well maintained… Or maybe it’s because it doesn’t get used much.
No bathrooms and limited parking. Very quiet despite being off of Canyon/10. My adventurous 2 year old was occupied for about 30min with the play structure. There’s a paved walkway that looks like it goes up into the neighborhood, but we didn’t follow it to find out. There are picnic tables, a drinking fountain, lots of shade, and a large grassy area. A perfectly respectable park, but not flashy.
Small quiet park. Its got four swings two for babys and a basic jungle gym with one slide that sit under ceader chips. You will also find two large picknick tables and a water fountain with a bowl for the dogs. All the toys are in the sun and can get to hot to use on warmer days. There is some shade trees in the upper part of the park. It has long stretch of grass for dogs to run and people seem to go off leash here as the park is almost totally enclosed.
