Located in Northeast Portland, Normandale Dog Park is a popular local destination for dog owners looking for a secure and friendly place to let their pets play off-leash. This fully fenced dog park features three separated areas: one each for small dogs, large dogs, and a mixed area—each accessible through connecting gates. The surfaces are a mix of bark, sand, and dirt, providing plenty of stimulation but be prepared for some mud after it rains.
Normandale stands out for its natural shade, user-friendly layout, and the convenience of two water stations in the mixed dog area. While the signage could be improved, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the adjacent amenities—like restrooms, a playground, a basketball court, and neighborhood parking—make it extra pet- and family-friendly. If you’re searching for a dog park in Portland, Oregon with spacious off-leash zones and community spirit, Normandale Dog Park is a great pick!
We have little dogs and took them here for the small dog fenced in area at the suggestion of a friend, and we were so glad we did! It makes all the difference being able to let them run around off leash without having to worry about an encounter with a big dog.

Nice dog park with 3 fenced in areas one for small dogs. The downside is once the rains start there are nasty muddy puddles. These need to be filled in or proper drainage installed.

Very nice areas of shade for all to enjoy. Was not impressed with labeling of which gated area was for small, medium and large dog areas. Had to walk through one to get to the appropriate place where my doggies felt comfortable among other dogs their size.

-Three areas: mixed dogs, large dogs, small dogs
-Bark/sand/dirt. No grass inside the dog areas.
-Fully fenced
-All areas are connected with a gate to get access from each area to another
-Two water stations in mixed dog area. A spigot, so plenty of water.
-NO trash cans inside the areas. Just one outside by the main entrances to the areas and not maintained.
-There are restrooms
-Playground for kids outside dog areas
-On street parking in residential area. Was not hard to find a spot on a Saturday afternoon. There is a little strip for parking, but that does seem like it would fill decently quick.
