This Portland gnome loves a good romp, and Lents Off-Leash Park is the perfect spot for pups to stretch their legs and chase the breeze. 🐕 Plenty of space, friendly dogs, and a welcoming vibe—it’s a joy to visit. The humans are great too, always chatting while the dogs play. My only problem? Every time I walk through, the dogs think I’m the chew toy. Guess that’s what I get for being gnome-sized! 😂🧙‍♂️

I love this dog park, it has grass, trees and no fences. My dog and I visit regularly. It is a vital community resource for area canines.

Im very disappointed about the new proposed dog park at Lents park. For many reasons I feel this is a waste of public funds. First, they are going to use Infield Ground Cover. Its not a dog park product, is notoriously hard on dog’s feet, can become solid and hardened and there is debate about the safety if dogs ingest it. The grass is much better, more serene and beautiful, more pleasant to walk or run or fetch on and likely better for urine smell control than baseball field gravel.

The Community Garden is right next to the dog park. If I were a gardener next to the dog park I would hate the idea of the smell and the seepage of urine into the ground over years of dogs being confined to one space.

This park is used daily, but it is not over crowded ever because dogs are spread out. In the enclosed space it looks very confining and ugly, quite frankly. All dog yards like this are ugly and smell terrible.

Finally, this enclosure will not stop dog fights if they are bound to occur. In Tualatin’s dog compound, there have been multiple dog attacks over the years.

We don’t need this at all. In fact, I won’t use it at all. My dog stays on leash and is walked around the park. We occasionally use the Boys and Girls field if she is up to fetching a ball. I’m sad for owners of young dogs because running and fetching in the park will be unpleasant.

Money would be better used building a splash pad in lents park. The plumbing already exists.
