If you’re looking for a quiet and lesser-known beach experience in the Port Sanilac, MI area, Village of Port Sanilac North Beach is a good local option. Tucked away with limited signage, this small beach offers visitors a tranquil spot with serene Lake Huron views—ideal for those who prefer fewer crowds and a low-key beach day. While it’s a peaceful setting, visitors should be aware that official pet-friendliness is questionable according to local encounters, and dogs may not be permitted on the beach itself despite its natural appeal to pet owners seeking dog-friendly beaches in Port Sanilac.
Amenities at the beach are minimal. Parking can be confusing and limited (with room for just a few vehicles), and a lack of clear signage may make locating the spot challenging. The beach is not wheelchair accessible due to a platform drop and a lengthy walk from parking. While there is old playground equipment nearby, North Beach focuses more on its natural, quiet beauty than on modern amenities or pet-focused facilities.
Parking is confusing, maybe room for 3-4 vehicles. What appears to be additional parking is labeled private. Old playground equipment and beach is not wheelchair accessible. When you walk straight out, in order to enter the beach, you need to jump off a deck platform about +2’.
Kind of long walk from parking, then long step from landing to beachfront. Okay for youngsters but difficult for seniors…
Came here for an hour, not pet friendly. Had some old hag that lives right next to the beach say no dogs were allowed. Literally sat in a chair on her property and stared. Said she was ‘on the council’. Power trip lol
Oh my goodness it was beautiful and I like a beach that doesn’t have very many people on it so this was my type of beat kind of hidden and nobody knows about it only a couple people there. Perfect little beach for me and my family
Small Beach, we almost missed it because there’s not much signage!
My teen son loved the swimming and we found some decent rocks but the water was murky today
