🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Located along the scenic shores of Port Monmouth, Bayshore Waterfront Park is an inviting destination for dog owners looking for an outdoor escape. This dog-friendly park features pet-friendly walking trails, beautiful waterfront views of the NYC skyline, and ample room for your canine companion to stretch their legs. The park is known for being accessible with paved parking and wheelchair-friendly pathways, making it an inclusive spot for the whole family.
Bayshore Waterfront Park is perfect for a picnic, with tables available throughout the area. There are real public restrooms on-site and plenty of parking, although it is best to arrive early on weekends due to limited spaces. The park also offers gentle bay waves, making it safer for children and less intimidating for pups new to water. Whether you want to stroll along the beach, hunt for shells, or relax and take in the views, Bayshore Waterfront Park stands out as a tranquil and dog-welcoming gem on the Jersey Shore.
DOG FRIENDLY!!
June 2022
We initially went to Bradley Cove but as we’re approaching summer beach season, they’re starting to collect cash at the beach entrances/enforcing no dogs allowed until after 6 pm (if you go on a slow day before peak summer beach season, there are off-leash dogs on the beach during the day before 6 pm in the dog beach area). This was the perfect alternative. There’s a lot of space if you want your dogs off-leash and away from other beach goers/dogs. Go early for parking & then to Frozen & Flavors for dog-friendly ice cream after!!
Like if this helps so I’ll post more reviews & so it’ll get bumped to the top so people can see this before wasting a trip there during the day (like I did)!
Lovely quiet beach with a well kept pier. Good amount of parking and scenic views.
Small, nice beach. Not crowded. Parking is limited.
Nice quiet beach with great views of NYC and Earl Naval Station. great for walking and finding shells. There are real bathrooms there (not porta potties). Also a bit of history. I would recommend checking it out.
This is a free to park and free to access beach. This is great for young children, as there are more gentle bay waves, rather than other Jersey beaches on the Atlantic. Lots of shells. Nice view of part of the NYC skyline across the bay. Less than two hours from the Allentown, PA area and very easy to find. No shower facilities, but there is a decently kept public bathroom with soap and paper towels.
