this is a great place. It’s a DOG friendly beach, expect dogs to be off leashed having fun, swimming, etc.
As dog owners, we love it. if you feel uncomfortable and you’re complaining that you want every dog leashed bc of it , then don’t come here. you’re unwelcomed.
It is a nice location, but there are too many sharp rocks and broken shells. My dog loved it but his paws were very red from walking on the rocks and shells. There were some people with dogs around, taking in the sun. Port Jeff is a very nice place. We only stayed about an hour at the beach. I wish there were less sharp rocks.
I went mid day during the week and found the atmosphere to be relaxed. Some dogs were off leash, others on flexi or short leashes. Dogs mostly interacted with their owners with occasional greetings by other dogs. People were nice, and so was the water.
We had a wonderful time, it was my companion’s first time at the beach and it was perfect! Clean, quiet, and the right amount of people. Very spacious.
Beautiful dog friendly beach and a view of the harbor. There is free parking right before the beach. I came on Sunday, it seemed like most stores were closed on Sunday, next time I will make the trip on Saturday.
