Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
If you’re looking for a convenient and secure dog park in Port Hueneme, California, consider the Port Hueneme Naval Base Dog Park. This dog-friendly park offers a space where pets and their owners can enjoy some off-leash time and socialization. Conveniently located at 1080 Bard Ln, it’s a great option for locals and visitors seeking a nearby pet-friendly outing.
While specific amenities and park features have not been detailed, the location is known to serve the local naval community and offers a safe environment for dogs to play. This makes it a unique option for dog owners stationed at or visiting the base, contributing to the area’s reputation for pet-friendly spaces near Oxnard and Port Hueneme.
The park could use some maintenance, but it’s a great size with plenty of room to run. I also appreciate the water points with bowls. Every dog we have met has been friendly.
Liberty Military Housing barely changes out the doggy waste trashcan, grass is basically gone, fencing is barely separating the small dog side from the big dog side. The plus? It’s on base, the doggy families that visit are very nice.
Gates and fences need SERIOUS repair. Plenty of dog owners had incidents of their dogs being attacked by other dogs that broke through the gate that separates the small park and big park. Doesn’t seem like the waste bins get disposed weekly and 0 maintenance on grass.
Its decent. Met some great dogs over there. Can’t say the same for their Owner’s though. I’m a firm believer that a pet (especially dogs) reflect heavily how their owner(s) raise them. Seen an abandoned dog there once (NOT COOL!!). My dog, the most friendliest, well behaved and as big and intimidating as he looked was attacked 3 times by the same breed of dog, 2 at one time, that were owned by different owners on separate occasions. That left a very negative impression on my dog. Now he thinks twice about engaging with that certain breed.
This dog park is such a blessing. I love having a relaxing enclosed area to bring the pups, and tire my son out at the same time! They have a small dogs area and a large dogs area with separate gates. There is a double gate so that you don’t have to worry about your dogs running out, a couple clean up stations, and a dog bowl secured under a faucet so that they can always have water. So thankful for this place!
