Great park, great fishing
I always pass by this place when cycling along the west bloomfield – clinton river – pontiac trail. Good stop to chill by at the benches near the fishing spot. Its nice and quiet. Or perhaps thats just me since i bike at random times between 5-7pm on weekdays/non peak hrs.
Sometimes people would drive by with loud music on , park a bit, check out the place. Kids play by the swings and basketball court.
I think it’d be a really nice park if it wasn’t a dump. There’s trash everywhere. In the hour we were there, 3 people came just to smoke. When the wind blew, all you could hear was trash going across the parking lot. I had to grab a broken glass bottle from the playground before my son grabbed it. However, if it could be cleaned and kept clean, then it could be really nice. It has a fitness area, baseball diamond, pond, two playground areas, etc.
We stopped here to fish for a little while in the early afternoon on a Wednesday. We were a bit disappointed in the amount of loose trash that blew around the place, as well as the multiple vehicles with their radios at annoyingly excessive levels. There are a couple of baseball diamonds, picnic tables/areas and lots of playground equipment along with some sort of restroom pavilion that was out of service. Luckily there were a couple of Porta Johns, but none had any toilet paper. We did catch three fish and were treated to two young Whitetail deer that seemed to be enjoying the day so it was worth the quick stop that we made.
