Located at the south end of the Daytona Beach area, Ponce Inlet Dog Beach is a welcoming dog park destination for pet lovers seeking sun, sand, and quality time with their pups. This pet-friendly beach park is known for its scenic beauty, laid-back vibe, and inclusive amenities that cater to both dogs and their humans. Visitors love the ocean views, kid-friendly areas, and options for picnicking, grilling out, and enjoying plenty of space for a walk along the shore. Public restrooms and wheelchair accessible parking make it easy for everyone to join the fun.
While this is a dog beach, all dogs must remain on-leash as off-leash play is not permitted. There’s a strong sense of community and responsible pet ownership here with regular patrols by animal control to ensure safety and cleanliness. The park is kept tidy with easily found trash bins and is busiest on weekends, so for a quieter experience, try visiting on a weekday morning. Whether you’re seeking pet-friendly trails, a place to swim with your dog, or a relaxing day out with family, Ponce Inlet Dog Beach is a hidden gem just south of Daytona Beach.
When I was a teenager, this was one of the stations I used to lifeguard at. Never did I think as an adult, I’d have 2 dogs to bring here to enjoy it 😃
It’s a nice dog beach though it’s a shame the doggies can’t be off leash. We arrived really early and were pleasantly surprised by how not busy it was. By 10 though, the crowds moved in, so we drove up to Flagler Beach instead where our dogs could have more space and run in the ocean.
I wish Volusia county was more dog friendly on its beaches.
I went on a Saturday so parking was sparse. But we did fine (small vehicle). The attendants at entrance were pleasant and helpful. The spot we chose to sit was surrounded by dead tree limbs sticking out from the sand. Some were hidden just under the sand…painful to the foot. But I think there are many other areas of sand without that issue. I didn’t see any dog poop lying around. And it’s easy to find cans to throw one’s own dog’s waste into.
Great to bring your dogs swimming! Nice place to bring the family. Love watching all the boats. There are several places to grill out. Great atmosphere.
I can’t believe I’ve been traveling here my whole life and missed this little sweet spot! I’d recommend going on a week day, in the early morning, and you have this little oasis all to yourself. Busy on weekends. Kids and dogs, some dogs vocal, and most kids lol. But serene through the week, and didn’t bother me at all on the weekends, just made me wish I brought my dog and grandkids. It was kinda loud with the sand dredging to reining the beaches but it wasn’t too bad and defiantly a place you don’t want to miss just for the sheer beauty.
This little slice of heaven on earth is a wonderful place to come and sit for a while with your pup, or spend the whole day! I was so happy to see most dog owners were adhering to the leash law and the one that wasn’t got told to leave! There was a very friendly Animal Control officer walking around and in a truck the whole time we were there making sure everyone was being responsible. This park is an absolute gem 🥰
