Discover the scenic beauty of Pocomoke River State Park: Milburn Landing, a peaceful and pet-friendly retreat nestled along the banks of the Pocomoke River in Pocomoke City, Maryland. With spacious campsites, clean restrooms, and plenty of lush woodland, this park is a favorite for nature lovers seeking dog-friendly hiking and relaxing riverside strolls with their pets.
The park features several walking and hiking trails perfect for dog owners. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy gentle walks and look out for native wildlife while ensuring their pups get plenty of exercise. Campers appreciate the well-maintained bathhouses and the tranquil atmosphere, but visitors should be prepared for seasonal bugs like ticks and mosquitos, especially during warmer months. With its location, peaceful setting, and pet-friendly trails, it’s a convenient spot for those looking for a dog park near Pocomoke City, Maryland.
Campsites seem nice and looks like a good place for boating. I came here for a hike once and a run once and I would not recommend either during the summer. Trails are overgrown and the bugs are really bad. Got 7 ticks on my legs after running on the maintained trails. During the hike I was getting eaten alive by mosquitos and attacked by horseflies. There’s also not much interesting to see other than a nice river view.
The good: very peaceful at night, lots of trails to walk on, not a ton of bugs.
The bad: no water at sites, dump station is a little tricky to get into when entering the park.
The ugly: you have to pay a stupid NULL reservation fee even if you just show up. Rates posted on site are higher than online. Camp host was barely there.
I stayed at the Milburn Landing. Clean and spacious bathhouse. The shower water pressure is great. TV Antenna has 20 channels. Beautiful sunrise if you’re an early riser. Nice dock to off of. Be sure to have a Maryland fishing license with you. Hiliking trail is safe but be on the lookout for snakes; copper head.
Enjoying a long weekend in a tent at Pocomoke State Park, Milburn area. Nice size sites. M-16 is across from the bath house. Nice walk to the river. Clean restrooms. Easy self check in.
Amazing place! Beautiful nature. We camped in a cabin. Only 1 other campsite was occupied, plus the camp host. The rangers that we met were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!
