Rotary Park Playground is nestled in a peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood in Placerville, CA, offering a relaxing outdoors experience for families and their pets. With spacious grassy areas for walks and play, shaded picnic tables, and lots of room to explore, this park is a great spot if you’re looking for a dog-friendly outing away from the city buzz. The surrounding tall pine trees bring fresh air and a serene vibe, ideal for a quiet escape with your four-legged companion.
The park also features a nice playground for kids, swings, benches, and a baseball field, making it a wonderful destination for families. While you’ll find plenty of natural shade thanks to the abundant trees, the park does not have a designated or fenced dog area, and dogs should remain leashed during visits. Parking is available, but it may be limited during events or busy times. This is a great neighborhood park for pet-friendly trails, dog-friendly hiking, and relaxing afternoons outdoors in Placerville.
Rotary Park Playground is a nice playground for kids, surrounded by tall pine trees. It’s very peaceful here, and the air feels fresh and clean. We rarely see other children when we visit—most of the time, we have the place to ourselves. There are swings and a few picnic tables, making it a good spot for a quiet outing. There’s also a baseball field nearby and plenty of parking.
However, I’m taking off one star because the restroom is always locked, which is really inconvenient for families with young kids.

Great Little League field. Excellent seating for fans and a really good snack bar. Playground, in case the little ones don’t want to watch the game. Parking is a bit difficult.

What a beautiful park. My dog had fun running around and made a new friend. However there is no way up or down without stairs. I have a knee issue and it was extremely hard getting to the field. The stair are steep and some steps have no railing. Thank goodness there was another person there who helped me. I would love to go back but just can’t handle the stairs. Wish they had a ramp.

Placerville Rotary Park is a gem nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Surrounded by large trees, it offers a nice outdoors feel to escape from the indoors or city life. The clean and well-maintained bathrooms are a testament to the care put into this park. The picnic tables provide a great setting for an outdoor lunch, while the playground is nice treat for families with children. This park has limited parking on the street, which would be a challenge during a ballgame, but wasn’t an issue when we visited. Highly recommended for those yearning for a picnic in the woods while keeping some modern conveniences. We’ll be visiting again!

Nice enough park tucked away in a neighborhood which is usually not a problem with parks but with this one it is. The parking is right next to road you drive in on and can be cramped. This next part is only based on experience with only 3 residents/ visitors of residents. The people who live near the park that I encountered were VERY rude, especially when they were driving up to their houses. One almost hit my car and would have if i didn’t swerve out of their way. The other residents I encountered were in their cars on the road within the park limits and they were very visibly annoyed with the fact that they had to wait for 15 seconds for me to finish coming up the road before they could drive down to their place. I also witnessed a resident doing work in their yard and I saw three different people walk by that house and say hello to the resident, the resident gave them the dirtiest look turned around without saying anything to the first two people who greeted him. To the third person who dared say hello, I actually heard the resident say horribly mean things about this individual after the person was out of their earshot. It seems to me that if you hate being around people that much and you hate your home having to share space with the public why would you buy a house with a Park right next to it unless you thought that you got to have the park all to yourselves, however, nowhere do I see a sign that says this is a private park.
As I said earlier, this does not reflect all residents who live there. I’m only talking about the encounters I had with a few residents, and they were indirect encounters mainly from my car. Just be aware that not everybody’s going to be happy to see you at this park if they are driving on the road or live VERY close to the parking by the park entrance.
