This is a beautiful park with tennis courts, walking trails, a place to bring kayaks and canoes into the water and nice play areas for kids with picnic areas and restrooms BUT THERE ARE NO ANIMALS FOR YOUR KIDS TO SEE OR FEED. The animals have not been there for 3 years now. I came 3 weeks ago in August 2025,with my 2 year old grandson and found that the area with the animals was empty and filled with Park vehicles. I talked to a groundskeeper who told me the animals have been gone for about three years now.

Quiet and relaxing environment. The walking trail was the best part of the park. It has exercise equipment along the trail and near the parking area was a great free books box that my grandchildren enjoyed because it was sort of a reward for them completing the walk.

This is a really great county park that is accessible to a lot of nearby towns in a central location. Sitting right along the Raritan river and full of walk and bike paths, this spans a length of 2+ miles. So many parking areas and places to stop. Old trees and expansive lawns.

In addition to the park and its facilities, one end of the park is dedicated to a historic village where the county park system organizes interesting activities a few times a year.

I haven’t crossed the park all these days without seeing a deer. They are everywhere and in good numbers.
