I was part of a big group camping at Lake Piru in early October for the first time. We discovered a great place. We loved that there are showers available, boats for rent and even delivery of firewood to our sites. I reserved over the phone and customer service is great. I definitely recommend camping at Lake Piru.

Been coming here 40 years, still a short hop skip and jump from the city. Best for RV use but tent camping is fun as well. The Lake is cold and must be on a water craft to access.

Open pit fires are ok and people are nice enough. Prices arent too bad for the area.

Great Labor Day weekend spent here. We loved that it was less than 1 hour away from the valley. Sadly the lake is very low and we had to drive out to get to the water. We reserved spot 231 and it was perfect, shaded and only in the morning around 9-11am it gets sun, otherwise it’s shaded all day long! The section we were in had about 20 spots with 4 designated porta potties on one end and 3 more on the other end. We loved that it is a dog friendly campground and for the most part if you have a good boy/girl they’ll be safe off leash. There are patrol units(regular campground employees or sheriffs) and only once did a sheriff remind us to have our dogs on leash. We didn’t rent any water craft or take any, but the lake is very low and we did have to drive to the swimmable area so be prepared to drive your car unless you plan on hiking. Also, you will loose phone signal under spectrum and T-Mobile, not sure about other service providers. I only used the shower once and it was NULL.25 for 12 minutes.
