Came here for the first time this weekend. We stayed at the lodge in the park. We explored the entire park and enjoyed every aspect! The hiking was amazing and we also enjoyed going down to check out the lake. The views are spectacular everywhere you look. I definitely recommend to ride the tram down to see the mountain creek lodge area, the bluestone river area is so incredibly beautiful!

It’s almost there. Leaves a lot to be desired but I can see the groundwork the State is doing to modernize the park. Hopefully they are successful and next year Pipesteam can be the best it’s ever been.

To start with it’s very difficult to get someone to answer the phone when trying to make or confirm reservations.
We stayed 3 nights at McKeever Lodge. The building is very much in need of renovation. It’s also a poor design, very narrow hallways. It’s really difficult to get a suitcase cart into the elevator. Although hard to get to, the Bluestone dinning-room is very good with a friendly staff. The new tramway wasn’t open but that should be a unique experience. Although, renovating the lodge may have been a better use of those funds.

Beautiful park, amazing views. If you are looking for the Almost Heaven swing, travel all the way to the back for the golf club house. Turn right and head to the tennis courts. The Almost Heaven Swing is to the right of the parking area. If you found the tennis courts you can’t miss the swing.

A light rain kept a lot of visitors away, so we only saw the park staff during most of our visit. Pipestem is one of the prettiest state parks I have seen as far as groundskeeping goes. This park is intended to be a place the whole family can enjoy. Golf for dad, spa time for mom, and a splash park for the kids, this place has something for everyone. Don’t forget hiking, zip lining, and fine dining. We definitely plan on coming back for a longer visit.
