We went fishing there and she warned us that the fishing hasn’t been great lately. We took three grandchildren ages 4-12, and the only thing we actually hooked was a turtle! Yes we released him afterward. But the playground was great fir the 4 year old, bathrooms and shower house was clean. We didn’t plan to swim but it looked nice as well. Just not the best for fishing, which is what our middle grandson had been begging to do.

I can’t say enough positive things about this place. The bathrooms were well kept, and the camping area was well maintained. The hiking was great & the boats were fun – the lake is so peaceful & quiet!! We came here as a Cub Scout Pack, and everyone enjoyed their time and the location – everyone’s first time coming (from Jacksonville)!

My only suggestion would be better oversight on the boat rentals – it seemed that the two younger employees last Saturday were quite lackadaisical in handing out keys and life vests which caused some people to get a little upset (other campers outside our group) & one group had significantly loud music playing for a long time (you could hear it across the lake) and they brushed it off when two different camping groups asked the employees to address it – their response was they shouldn’t be there that long. It took away from the peace & quiet for a while, but other than that, our weekend there was AMAZING!!
