If you’re looking for a clean, friendly, and spacious dog park in Pickerington, Ohio, Violet Township Dog Park is an ideal spot for your furry friend to run and play off-leash. Conveniently located at 490 N Center St, this dog-friendly destination boasts large open fields and is well-loved by local dog owners for its clean environment and accessible amenities. With separate areas for large and small dogs, as well as a unique section for pups that need solo play, there’s something for every temperament and size.
Among its many amenities are plentiful parking, wheelchair accessible paths and entrance, shaded shelter with seating, and seasonal water fountains for both dogs and humans. The park is open year-round, offers plenty of poop bag stations, and is known for being generally clean and well-maintained. Friendly visitors, responsible owners, and a well-tended environment make Violet Township Dog Park a favorite for both locals and visitors seeking a safe, enjoyable dog park experience in the Pickerington area.
Plenty of room for the dogs to go crazy and run off all that energy from being cooped up inside during the day. During the warmer months they have a water fountain available to fill up a bowl for the dogs to drink out of. As soon as it starts getting cold out they shut off the water so it doesn’t freeze and bust, so bring some with you in that instance. It is open year round though so that’s nice.
This dog park is great! I’ve never had any issues with other dogs or owners. There is so much space for the dogs to run and play with two separate sections, one for large dogs and one for small. There is a drinking fountain for both humans and dogs. There is also a good amount of parking.
There was one mud puddle but overall it is a very well maintained park. He had just rained so obviously my dog found it. Very spacious and the other dog owners seem very responsible. I’ve been to some parks where dog owners don’t pay attention so that’s important for me. We will definitely need to come back.
Well tended, generally clean, and well stocked!
I was in the area with my dogs on a short trip, and didn’t expect to stop so I didn’t have bags. The park has quite a few stands with rolls of bags in them, and they were sturdy bags!
The park has 3 sections- one larger side for general use, one small dog only section, then one the locals apparently call “Alcatraz” as it is set aside for dogs that don’t get along well with others. It seems to be generally accepted that it is a “one family at a time” situation.
While there were a few spots where it was muddy, the park was generally well tended and clean. There are large open areas for running, a pavilion with chairs for shade and resting while the dogs play, and a few trees and such to make this a nice looking park.
The back side does neighbor up to the back of residential properties, but it isn’t problematic.
The parking lot is in the rear of a government maintenance building. Maps doesn’t recognize the entrance on Center, so it may guide you to go in the main drive of the maintenance building, but you can access off of Center directly.
Definitely recommend n
Took my new puppy to this park and he loved it! Great people, dogs, super clean and the water station is great.
