🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Located on the scenic waterfront, Penn’s Landing Dog Park is a favorite destination for both locals and visitors searching for a dog park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The park features a fenced play area where dogs can socialize and run off-leash, all while owners relax on plentiful benches under the shade of beautiful trees. With its clean and peaceful atmosphere, this riverside spot is perfect for dog owners wanting a tranquil, pet-friendly escape right in the heart of the city.
Conveniently wheelchair accessible with both entrance and designated parking, the park is known for its proximity to family-friendly attractions, including river views, seasonal ice skating, and nearby treats like Franklin Fountain’s famous ice cream. Although there is a small unlabeled section for small and large dogs, most areas are shared. Water is available for dogs, and cleanup is made easier with trash bins throughout the park. Whether you’re looking for local dog-friendly trails or just a relaxing afternoon by the water, Penn’s Landing Dog Park is a unique spot for every pet lover.
Took my grandkids to see the Delaware River, they had a great time, and they Loved the boats
The dogs had a blast running around and even made a new friend. There were plenty of benches to sit on and the park was very clean.
Giving this 3 stars because of the gravel, which is not a safe choice for rough dog play. But park was empty on a Saturday so I think most dog owners know that. There are trash cans and working water but no poop bags or toys. Fence is about 4.5 feet high. There is an expensive (NULL) parking lot next to it and regular paid street parking is a bit of a walk. There are benches and cute trees and it’s nice to be near the water but as a dog park it’s mediocre. There is a super small unlabeled small dog area and large dog area but since they aren’t labeled it defeats the purpose. If they changed it to mulch or turf it would be great here and then there also might be more doggos.
beautiful just beautiful….i always come here if i have the chance and ill just sit here for hours along the delaware river and just take it in……highly recommended if u like peace and quiet….and if u dont mind…bring bread or crackers or something for the geese and seagulls lol💪🏽💯
It’s always a pleasure to be here. Such a calm place on the waterfront. Ice skating during Christmas and New Year holidays is crowded but fun to witness.
And don’t forget the amazing ice creams and hot chocolate from Franklin Fountain!!
