Columbus Square Dog Park – A Favorite Dog Park in South Philadelphia

Columbus Square Dog Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a popular destination for local pet owners seeking a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained dog park. The park features artificial turf, keeping the area clean and mud-free even after rain. There are two separate sections: one dedicated primarily for small dogs, and a larger area open to all but better suited for smaller breeds or less active large dogs. Friendly regulars, plenty of toys, and a small pool with a sprinkler make this park a fun environment for dogs to play and socialize.

For owners, Columbus Square offers benches situated under shady spots for comfort while supervising their pets. Water features are available in warmer months, but it’s a good idea to bring water for your dog, especially if visiting later in the season when fountains may be shut off. Free street parking is usually readily available nearby, making it convenient for visitors. While the park provides waste stations, bringing your own poop bags is recommended as they may not always be stocked. This dog-friendly spot is favored for weekend outings and is one of South Philadelphia’s best community parks for dogs and their owners.

My pup absolutely loves this dog park—there’s plenty of space to run and play. The other dog owners are friendly and the park is always clean. It’s become our favorite weekend hangout.

Beautiful dog park. It has fake grass, a pool and separate areas depending on dog size. It’s not so good for large dogs because it’s not so big, but overall nice park, nice people and nice dogs!

Great little park with benches and some shade. There are lots of balls and toys and a small pool and sprinkler for cooling off. Street parking g is normally available for free nearby.

I deducted one star because the city does not stock the pool bags. Make sure to bring your own.

Great dog park, very well maintained and the best place for your dog to enjoy the company of other dogs, great people who care about the community, the dog park, Columbus Square and each other.

This is my favorite dog park in South Philadelphia, they have tons of toys and a little pool if your dog likes water, the only downside to the park is the size since it’s split into 2 sections one section for smaller dogs and then one for larger dogs(which allows the small dogs as well) .
