Lockwood Park is a scenic, pet-friendly park located in the heart of Petoskey, MI, at 101 E Lake St. With its wide-open spaces and serene surroundings, Lockwood Park is a favorite spot for dog owners seeking a peaceful area to throw a ball or enjoy a stroll with their furry companions. The park is well-maintained and offers accessibility features, making it welcoming for everyone, including wheelchair users.
What makes Lockwood Park unique is its beautiful hillside, perfect for sledding in the winter and bike rides in the summer, along with a nearby baseball diamond and easy access to local attractions such as Ottawa playground and Corner Scoops ice cream shop. While there is no official fenced dog run, dogs are allowed at the park, and the typically low number of visitors means you and your pup can often have plenty of space to yourselves.

Its a place to be
Great park to throw ball for your dog.
Well groomed and in a beautiful location. There’s even a porta potty for baseball games!
There’s usually not many people at this park which can be great because you have it basically to yourself. There’s a baseball diamond on one side and a massive hill that’s great for sledding in the winter and riding your bike down at fast pace in the summer (as I did when I was younger). It’s close to Ottawa playground and the corner grocer which includes the ice cream place corner scoops. You could grab a cone or lake effect and hang out in the park.
