Curtis Park
Curtis Park is a large, well-maintained neighborhood park spanning over 7 acres with plenty of trees, making it a pleasant spot for dogs and their owners. It is popular among local residents and offers conveniences like dog waste receptacles with bags and trash bins. While dogs are allowed, it is not a designated off-leash dog park. The park is family-friendly and suitable for kids.

Favorite place to take our pup
Large open space (over 7 acres) with several trees not too far from the Bear River, but generally “off the beaten path”.
Good dog park! Lots of locals in the neighborhood bring their dogs there. They have garbage cans and poop bags for convenience!
The sign that faces Lawrence St blocks any view the neighbors had of the lake. It’s in a weird place anyway. It could have been placed further down the street near the property line where it blocks no one’s view.
We took a weekend trip up north to Petoskey with our two medium-sized dogs. It was great to have a clean, well-maintained, large neighborhood park (encompassed a few acres with some large trees) a couple miles from our hotel so our girls could take a potty break and walk a bit during the day when we were out driving. We saw at least one dog waste receptacle w/bags at the edge of one corner of the park, which was convenient. The park wasn’t crowded when we were there but there was at least a dog or two with its owner or parents with kids hanging out part of the time. This isn’t a dog park where you can take your dogs off leash to run free, although we did play fetch with one of our girls when the park was empty (she’s well behaved and comes when we call her back to us). We ended up visiting the park twice — our girls thanked us! I only gave the park 4 stars because it wasn’t a designated dog park, but the next best thing to meet our needs. 🐕 🐺
