🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Yellow Creek State Park offers a natural and scenic environment for dog owners to enjoy time with their pets. The park is notable for providing ample outdoor space, and it appears to be a welcoming spot for off-leash activities, surrounded by typical state park amenities.
We stayed in a yurt, and it was great! Our (extended) family rented 3 of the 4 yurts. The yurt area is secluded and quiet with a big green space for kids to run around. It’s such a family-friendly way to camp! The yurts have (surprisingly comfortable) bunk beds that sleep a total of 5 (plus room for a pack n play, if you need one), a fridge, a stovetop, heat, and electricity. Feels more like a little cabin. My only cons were that it was a tad far from the bathroom area, and the website lacks directions. (We all got lost on the way…) Beautiful park and a great camping experience!

Went to the beach and it was a wonderful evening!! Very kind people I had my daughter, son and a friend of mines daughter and they are all little kids and man actually seen my struggling to walk them all into the water and offered to help which was super kind and has never happened to me!! We had a cookout at woodland pavilion everything was super taken care of grass cut, garbage cans, grills were clean! I’m from Altoona and live in Butler and Yellow Creek is about halfway and from now on this is where my family will be meeting to get together
Lots of boat ramps, trails and picnic areas. I like the dragonfly pond. Most of the trails is overgrown with fallin trees everywhere. No benches. The restrooms open way too late in the year. I like the option to rent a kayak or boat. The lake is pretty.
My wife and I paddled the west side of the lake on our SUP boards. Very clean water, boats were not a huge disruption and were respectful. Stopped off and had lunch on an embankment that was shady and cool. Definitely will be back to explore more.
Stayed in Yurt D for a weekend. Weather was rainy but was still a good weekend. The lake is nice and the Yurt was clean and comfortable. I wish it was a little closer to the lake for night fishing but it seems the cabins are more setup for this.
