If you’re seeking a scenic and pet-friendly adventure, Riding Run Conservation Area in Peninsula, Ohio is a top destination. Known for its beautiful, shaded trails winding through a medium-growth forest, this conservation area offers challenging hills, peaceful hiking, and stunning views—especially in autumn and winter. While not a traditional fenced dog park, it’s an excellent spot for dog-friendly hiking and spending time with your pup on Peninsula’s picturesque trails.
The park is also great for families, with trail options that suit various skill levels and plenty of opportunities for kids. Pet owners will appreciate the mostly shaded pathway (about 90%), and nature enthusiasts will enjoy the vibrant scenery following rainy weather or during misty mornings. The iconic Everett Road covered bridge is a popular stop for photos, making this a memorable outing for both humans and dogs.
Hiked there on a morning after a rainy night , beautiful misty weather so many mushrooms
Outstanding hike. Plenty of hills. Awesome scenery. Will do this one again for sure
Great trails, steep hills and some mud. High side has some great views in autumn and winter.
Good, challenging hiking trail. A few muddy spots but not too bad. Circular trail through a medium growth forest. 90% shaded.
Nice trail. You can also step off the trail on to Everett Road (closed) to avoid the steepest parts if that’s not what your after. I always see people taking pictures at the covered bridge.
