Pawtucket Dog Park (at Slater Park)

Pawtucket Dog Park at Slater Park offers separate fenced areas for small and large dogs with agility equipment and plenty of space for dogs to run. The park features packed stone dust and gravel ground surfaces, picnic tables, seating under shaded structures, water fountains (not always functional), and trash and poop bag stations. It is wheelchair accessible with ample parking and a welcoming community. While there is limited shade and no grass, it provides a decent environment for dogs and their owners to enjoy outdoor activities.
Reviews
Small dog park located in Slater Park that leaves a lot to be desired. There are separate areas for small and large dogs (with 30 lbs being the cut off), but both are pretty limited in space. No grass in either enclosure, just dirt and gravel so I can imagine it gets quite messy after some rain. There are some obstacles to keep the dogs entertained, along with water fountains and some benches under a structure providing some shade. Seems like there is a decent community involved in supporting the park based on the bulletin board by the gates, so might be better if you come often and make connections with other regulars. As someone who doesn’t live nearby and just stopping in while walking around Slater Park, I was pretty unimpressed.
My dog loves the scenery, as do I. The place is kept nice.
Quiet and relaxed place when I was there. Picnic tables are near with lots of available parking. It is a large park that offers places to walk around.
I wanted to venture out to a new dog park so I drove over 30mins and what I found online was a little deceiving from when I arrived. I was expecting the park to have artificial turf or grassy area, as shown in attached photo of the man & woman sitting with their dog. But all I found was a park that had small stones on the Small dog side. Also found a lot of poop owners didn’t pickup. Make sure you watch where you walk! Also, the water fountain did not work at all which was disappointing since it was a hot summer day. On a positive note: There is a lot of space for dogs to run around and a couple structures fun for the dogs to climb on. The shade for adults to sit had a lot of seating which was great!
Decent park. Decent size.
Ground was packed stone dust, sand, and tiny gravel – not even peastone.
Water bubblers, trash and bags are all present. Agility equipment was in good shape. Separate sections for large and small dogs. Very limited shade.
Parking lot has seasonal portapotties.
