If you’re searching for a serene and scenic dog park in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Pawley’s Island Parking Lot South is a unique destination for locals and visitors alike. Located at 764 County Rd S-22-104, this dog-friendly beach offers a peaceful coastal experience with stunning views of both the ocean and the marsh, making it a favorite spot for sunrise and sunset walks with your pup.
This pet-friendly trail and beach access point welcomes dogs on its wide, beautiful shoreline and natural sandy paths. With newly paved parking, level access, and free parking, it’s easy and convenient to visit. While there are no commercial distractions, you’ll enjoy exploring with your dog, collecting shells, and even swimming – both you and your canine companion can enjoy the refreshing waters. Please remember to respect the local environment, as its charm relies on visitors keeping it clean and peaceful.
What a unique beach spot! Walk from the parking lot down a short path, and everything opens up to a massive beach. To the left you have the ocean, and to the right you have the marsh. You can swim on either side. Everything from the parking lot to the beach is pretty level and easy to walk. (This is a great place to go to watch the sun rise or set.) We found this location to be very peaceful and relaxing. Parking could be a bear depending on the time of day/year you go.
The newly paved parking lot is awesome. No more stones to walk across. Love the new dune and beach access. I really enjoy walking all the way around and get to see more of a natural beach. I like that there is nothing commercial here – just a nice beach! Don’t forget to hunt for a Pawley’s Island shell!!!
This is a great beach spot location. Easy access to the beach, with free parking. The beach is beautiful and there is plenty of room to roam. The best part is, this is a dog friendly beach, which is awesome. Our pup had a great time, as did we. The sunrise over the beach is breathtaking, as well as the sunset. We stayed in nearby Georgetown, which is a town about 20 mins away(which was a perfect area to stay). Highly recommend.
This spot is a gem! The scenery is breathtaking with great views in all directions. It’s a perfect place to escape with a slower pace than other beaches, due in part to the smaller parking lot. While some may argue that the parking lot should be bigger, that’s really what makes this spot so special. It helps keep the crowds down, although you do need to arrive early to secure a spot. The charm of this location is unmatched, and it boasts a quaint and peaceful atmosphere, complete with friendly locals and the signature Lowcountry marsh. Truly one of my favorite destinations in the area. If you visit, please make sure to leave no trace and keep this spot special! — Carson
This is a fairly small lot, so it gets full on nice summer days. If you go early enough, you can get a spot. There are outhouses available that are decent as outhouses go. The beach is beautiful, and it is a nice walk down to the inlet, and across the sand to the creek. Many people enjoyed fishing and swimming there. We found some great shells and sharks teeth as well.
