Dog Park in Paterson, New Jersey

Located at 14-50 Lawrence St, this dog park in Paterson, New Jersey, offers local pet owners a spot to let their dogs run off-leash and socialize. The park features separated fenced-in areas for both small and large dogs, providing a safer space for different breeds and sizes. While the layout could be appealing for dog-friendly fun and community meetups, recent visitors describe the park as being in need of significant maintenance, with issues like broken gates, damaged fences, overflowing trash, and minimal grass care. Shade is limited, and there’s little in the way of amenities or activities for both pups and their humans.

Although water access is available, reviews warn about poor drainage and the potential for muddy conditions. The city does not regularly maintain the park, making cleanliness a concern for many dog owners. Parking can be challenging, and there are currently no covered shelters or shaded areas, which may make summer visits uncomfortable. If you’re searching for a dog park in Paterson or the surrounding area, it’s worth visiting but being mindful of the current conditions and your dog’s safety.

Gates/fences were cut open so be careful because dogs can get out if you don’t check the perimeter first.. it was well maintained few years ago like everyone seemed to pick up their dogs stuff and now, a mess! The gates are impossible to close, it’s dirty, never has bags, garbages are overflowing. I like the separate fenced in area that’s in each of the two areas. There is a place to get water but comes out so fast you either get soaked or leave a huge mud puddle. My kids and I would come here often now I rather go out of town to Goffle park.

It’s ok. It just stinks real bad and the gates and fences needs to be repaired.
