Nice place to hang out for an hour or two.
Often too crowded during the warmer months with people blasting their music on the beach or cook out area. A radio/speaker ban would be nice. We usually stick to a lap or two around the pond.
The dog beach isn’t enclosed like Downs Park dog beach but not a bad spot to let your dog bark at some small waves.
We buy the AA county yearly park pass every year. Park Rangers and the people who work the entrance booth are very nice.

Just make sure you have cash on hand for entry jusy in case the debit card machine is down. Because you wont gain access! Overall we had a awesome time..The view is amazing. The park is a gem.

The remodeling here made this beach park much more convenient and clean. This is one of my favorite places to relax. My singular wish is that visitors would take their trash out with them and leave the area cleaner. While I was trying to relax and enjoy the scenery, I kept seeing plastic straws, candy wrappers and other litter washing ashore. It would be awesome if everyone might see their role in keeping our natural resources clean for everyone to use and enjoy. The litter also impacts wildlife so if the park could encourage these practices with signage that would be really helpful.

This park is so nice. We had my Great Uncle & Godmother’s celebration of life here recently. The park itself was quaint and peaceful. It wasn’t overcrowded but it was the begining of April and a little chilly. You can tell the upkeep is maintained and cared for. The scenery is something to take in and admire.The water/beach area was a short walk from the pavilion. Litter was not an issue or had a weird odor in the air like at some other parks do. It really was the spot that made that sad day just a little better and my Uncle & Godmother would have enjoyed it. Wildlife is a little friendly but super cute. I had to stop just to snap a picture! The only complaint from me and my family was the gate entrance guard (?) He was a little rude to some in our group and gave us wrong directions to our reserved pavilion. Maybe he was new? Otherwise great place.

It’s okay but not the greatest. Has some decent trails, but more trash than U was expecting. Also, watch where you step–found a hypodermic needle on the beach, near the old fountain. Did love seeing the birds though! Be aware that that ammonia like smell is from the power plants.
