Great small hike, beautiful scenery, the waterfall at the end is a nice spot to relax.
This is a VERY popular spot. First time I hiked this trail I arrived at the parking lot by 9am and there was already a sea of people. I couldn’t walk 20ft without someone next to me. By the time I arrived at the waterfall, it was so packed I couldn’t even make my way to the water.
The second time I hiked this trail, I got there early, around 6:20am. The parking lot wasn’t open so I parked on the side street and made my way. By that time there were people already hiking but it wasn’t a crowd. I definitely had a way better time. When I got to the water fall there were only around four people there. I took a quick dip and by the time I started heading back everyone was arriving.
This is a great small hike, it’s not hard at all. You will have to cross some streams so you’re going to get a little wet. Just make sure you get there early, before the parking lot opens.
We experienced blue skies, warm weather, and good vibes, at Eaton Canyon in Pasadena, California. With the lush greenery rustling gently in the breeze as hikers make their way along the picturesque trails, discovering hidden waterfalls and breathtaking vistas. Eaton Canyon is a wonderful relaxed walk with convenient access to vehicle parking and picnic areas for a pleasant outdoor experience. And it’s both child and dog friendly with lots of outdoor places to stop for shade along the pathways. You don’t have to be a world class athlete to enjoy this place.
This hike was very enjoyable! You have to cross the stream eight times so your feet will probably get wet. I enjoyed the views walking within the canyon and the varied terrain. There were many places to enjoy a shaded break and the waterfall was flowing quite nicely. I’m looking forward to going back.
Lovely hike, not too intense. We hiked to the waterfall and back. With a small dog that doesn’t want to hike, it took us about 3.5 hours to hike 4.25 miles. Make sure to bring water because it gets quite hot and dusty up on the trail. Safe and happy hiking!
Great easier hike. 2-2.5 hours to the waterfall and back. Plenty of free parking. The first half is very easy then the second half involves 9 river crossings that require some steady steps.
