Rose Bowl Three Mile Loop is a dog-friendly trail located in Pasadena, CA, circling the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium. This pet-friendly trail offers a wide, mostly flat, and paved 3-mile loop perfect for walking dogs, jogging, or enjoying a bike ride. Ample free parking is available on most days, and the park is well-known for great accessibility—it’s wheelchair accessible, with clearly marked entrances and lots. The area is also kid-friendly and offers sweeping views of the surrounding golf course, hillsides, and local neighborhoods, making it a versatile outdoor destination for everyone in the family.
This dog park in Pasadena, CA doesn’t feature a dedicated fenced dog area, but leashed dogs are welcome on the loop and adjoining nature trails. There are public restrooms available (though quality may vary), and you’ll find convenient access to the popular Brookside Park nearby. The fresh air, spacious setting, and easy trails make this a local favorite for pet owners looking for an enjoyable and scenic outing in the Pasadena area.
Nice flat walk on pavement. There are signs to beware of golf balls. You see more golf course than Rose Bowl.
3 mile loop exactly. parking is ample (unless you’re here on a weekend). decent amount of people but it varies on the time of day and the day itself.
Great place for running, both easy runs and intervals since it’s a big loop that’s almost completely flat. Free parking and not crowded. Only gripe is I had to use a porta potty that wasn’t maintained at all and trashed, and no sinks anywhere with running water to wash my hands. Came on a weekday between 5-6pm in Jan and there weren’t many people, about 70% walkers and 30% runners
Easy and consistent loops around the rose bowl. The ground may be uneven in some spots and elevation keeps changing depending on the direction you go but it’s one long continuous loop. Great for training, if you’re running at night though beware running by the trees, the roots made the road uneven, you might trip.
I’ll usually do the loop prior to or after attending stadium events. Here’s a beautiful setting with scenery for a relatively short hike!
Brookside Park and Rose Bowl Stadium lots and restrooms are available to the public.
There’s several hillside nature trails connecting from the loop, adding more of a semi-wilderness experience to the hike.
For points of reference, I’d use the Rose Bowl Stadium for one, with the long parking lot south of the main entrance, the Arroyo aqua-duct on the westside and a golf course, on the backside. Also, the surrounding hillside homes are quite distinctive to spot from the get-go and notice along the way!
