Big Marsh Wildlife Management is a natural area in Parkersburg, Iowa, providing a spacious outdoor environment for visitors and their dogs. This wildlife management area offers open natural surroundings ideal for walking and enjoying nature with your pet. It is a place to experience wildlife and the outdoors rather than a specially tailored dog park with extensive amenities.
2 boat ramps and plenty of room to park. Take a walk? Not much else but it’s gorgeous!
Wide open marsh. Very nice habitat for waterfowl at the right time of year. Sounds like there is a healthy pheasant population here too.
It’s a great place to enjoy with the dog, hardly see anyone else, keep an eye on hunting seasons when going out for a walk.
Mostly went to check it out to come back later in the year when conditions are warmer. But i will be back seems really good spot for birding and for looking for insects
I have spent a lot of time at Big Marsh photographing the waterfowl and scenic sunrises. Early morning or late evenings is the best time to view native wildlife. Spring migration is spectacular for geese and ducks.
