Great place to spend a few hours checking out the falls. They have plenty of parting that’s only a short walk away from the falls area – might be about a quarter mile walk to the stairs that lead down to the viewing area – there’s about 90 stairs to go down to see some really great scenic views and get some good pictures!

This is an amazing park with ample parking, paved trails and clean bathroom facilities and welcome center. It really is something to see in person. There are upper and lower falls, and parks, parking, and facilities at both the upper and lower falls. There are many miles of both paved and non paved trails to hike so allot yourself some time to enjoy. The trails are under tree cover with lots of nice forest shade. There are lookout decks at several points along the main paved and deck board trails. The lower falls have row boats that you can rent to explore the island between the split lower falls.

This is a beautiful state park. We came specifically to see the Tahquamenon Falls. Its onlt about a 1/4 of a mile walk, on pavement to the falls. Its is almost completely level. There were a few places to see the Falls from a distance. But I was extremely disappointed that the steps down to the deck for a much clearer view of the Falls were closed. There was no mention of this on their website. Had I known this, we probably would not have gone. That is really the only reason to visit the Upper Falls. Very disappointing.
