The cabins are fine, as far as Iowa state park cabins go, but not my favorite. They are a fairly long walk from the parking lot and the pit restrooms, and they have no view at all. Cabin 1 is closest to the parking lot and restroom, and we stayed in cabin 4, the furthest. They are also more cramped inside than many of the other cabins we have stayed in. The A/C and heat worked well. The lighting in the cabin was pretty poor. There is a long path down to a finger of the lake from the cabins, but it is not an ideal place to keep a boat or to shorefish.
They are just the right size for 2 people. Have a small fridge bunkers couch table n chairs and a lovely rustic theme. Love the front porch too.

Camp, hike, bike, swim, boat or fish. Or bring a horse to the trail. Well maintained and clean trails for comfortable barefoot, down to earth(grounding) hiking.
Just weekday camping. Nice spot. Good neighbors. Decent fishing.
