Pleasant Grove Dog Park is a highly-rated dog park located in the heart of Palmyra, Virginia. This local gem features spacious, fenced play areas for dogs to run off-leash, alongside well-maintained walking and pet-friendly hiking trails. Dog owners enjoy the park’s peaceful, natural setting and the opportunity to socialize in one of the park’s three separate dog pens, providing flexibility whether your dog enjoys group play or alone time.
The amenities at Pleasant Grove Dog Park make it a standout option for dog owners in Fluvanna County and beyond. You’ll find wheelchair accessible parking, public restrooms, water for dogs, shaded shelters, picnic areas, and plenty of seating for dog parents. The park is well-kept and offers kiddie pools for pups to cool off in warmer months. With nearby trails to the river and reservable picnic shelters, it’s the perfect spot for both daily visits and special outings with your furry friend.
Nice quick trail down to the river! Was clean, easy to follow, and not crowded.
My dog loves going to the dog park! The park has three spacious pens, so you can choose to socialize in the big pen, or spend lone time in one of the other pens. There are also several walking trails nearby. Water available. Plenty of parking nearby.
Loved this place and so did my dogs. The off leash dog area is wonderful! I will be returning.
Beautiful Peaceful Spacious 3 areas for dogs to play Kiddie pools everyone I met was so nice, Trails to walk & Shelters to snack or watch a cool lightning storm
Regularly visit here to walk the “fitness trail” down to Sandy Beach to see the Rivanna River, sit at one of the three picnic shelters (which can be reserved for events through parks and rec), and meet with people for brief outdoor meetings. Lovely place that is well kept. The dog park also has a fenced area, which I have never used for my dogs, but it seems nice as well with multiple play yards and water on site. There is also a composting toilet restroom if needed, although it can get a little smelly…stick better than a porta-potty! This outdoor area is a local gem.
