🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Center Lake Doggy Park is a quaint, well-loved dog park conveniently located in Oviedo, FL. Although it is on the smaller side, its intimate size makes it perfect for dog owners seeking a less overwhelming environment for their pups, especially first-timers and those seeking regular playmates. This dog park consistently attracts many of the same friendly locals and their dogs, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere for both pets and owners.
The park is fully fenced, and though there is no separation between small and large dog areas, it offers a safe off-leash space for friendly and social dogs to interact. Amenities include numerous dog water bowls, a hose for water and cleanup, and always-stocked waste bags and trash cans to ensure a clean environment. Whether you’re looking for a spot to make new friends or introduce your pup to group play in a controlled setting, Center Lake Doggy Park is a great go-to dog park in Oviedo. Please exercise caution and ensure your dog is social and non-reactive, as there’s no size segregation within the play area.
The dog park is very small and I don’t think it’s a safe idea to bring smaller dogs here because there’s no size separation. So, there’s not too much you can do to avoid bigger dogs attacking smaller ones. Also the grass isn’t real grass, which I think can get a little too unsanitary.

I bring my younger dog of eight months he does well with the hounds or poodles that come in. Writing a review after bringing him for months due to people bringing aggressive dogs and not doing anything about it or being inattentive. There’s a pair of huskies, an aussie, and a larger Samoyed that are not friendly whatsoever. I understand that dog fights happen…I’ve been through an incident with a pitbull at Baldwins dog park…it was sudden since it ran straight for my dog. I just can’t justify it when a fight is being instigated and the owner of the other dog refuses to move.Thankfully since I follow him around most of the time nothings happened until today. It was nothing major. There’s a larger Samoyed that comes periodically and will get very aggressive. The owner seemed to shrug it off after I pulled my dog away. He was smelling the sam and it just turned and tried to latch on. I don’t buy the “they’re just playing” when the dog is actively trying to latch onto my dogs neck in a serious manner. It happened twice…the second time my dog was walking past it to get to the fountain and I had to grab my dog away quick. We left after that. I should’ve left after the first time. I recommend it if your dog is friendly and playful, I harshly don’t advise if your dog is reactive or aggressive. Please don’t bring your dog if they are. We all want to keep our pups safe.

PLEASE BEWARE. we have a friendly lab mix dog and when we were there a boxer mix with a white male and a tan female came in and the dog attacked my dog first thing, not only did they not help with separating the dog but they left before we could get any information as well as my dog now has a open wound and a scratch. I have Tried contacting the park about this and have no response yet, please beware if you bring your baby here because IRRESPONSIBLE Dog owners do not care.

Small but does the job, puppies enjoyed it 🙂

Yes it may be on the small side but it’s perfect for pup’s like mine who can get overwhelmed in crowds!
I love that it’s smaller because we also see some of the same pups often so my boy has friends! He gets so excited when we pull up and park! For his first ever dog park it was the best way to get him accustomed to other dogs, and it’s perfect for first timers and new pups. But if you also like having some regulars it’s great too, we love seeing everyone, and we go at least twice a week!
There’s numerous dog bowls to fill up with water for the pups, a hose with fresh water to fill the bowls and use to clean up any messes on the astroturf, and there’s trash cans and waste bags always stocked!
