A lot of the park is closed but you can still walk 3/4 the trail. Park is set to reopen summer 2026. I like this park even partly closed. Great trees, path (almost) round pond, carvings, and a cemetery.

Visited yesterday, 20 May 2025, to walk the paved path around the lake and found that it’s closed at one end due to the pavement falling into the lake. The lake itself is in poor condition and is scheduled for restoration. Until then, judging by the sound effects, there are tons of bull frogs enjoying the ambiance. The park, with trail and lake, is going to be nice when the repairs and restoration is done, but it’s got a ways to go. A unique feature that I really enjoyed is multiple sculpture carvings of what was probably dead or damaged trees that had been cut to about 10 feet high and left for carving. A photo is included. Overland does a great job with its parks and with time and patience I’m sure it will do the same here.

Wild Acres Park:
Wild Acres Park in Overland, MO, is a hidden gem that boasts stunning natural beauty. On a sunny and clear day, I had the chance to take my drone up and capture some incredible aerial views of the park. From above, the lush greenery, winding trails, and serene lake came into view, offering a unique perspective on this natural oasis.
As I watched the footage later, I was struck by the park’s tranquil beauty and the sense of peace it exudes. The gentle breeze ruffling the leaves, the shimmering water of the lake, and the sight of anglers fishing in the lake all brought a smile to my face. Therefore, I made a YouTube video to share.

Took my daughter here at the end of our field trip to relax and enjoy moments of mindfulness. We did some core exercises and a little walking as well. Nice experience.
