🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]

Playground in Orangeburg, SC offers a place where families—and their furry friends—can stretch their legs and enjoy some fresh air. While mainly known for traditional play equipment and picnic pavilions, this park is also a convenient stop for dog owners traveling through the area looking for a pet-friendly spot to let their dogs and kids play. It’s accessible from the interstate and includes a basket of shaded and sunny areas with parking options nearby.
The playground has some worn and older features, and visitors have noted the need for extra care due to ant piles, some trash around, and bent latches on gates. There’s a pavilion with picnic tables and a portable restroom available for visitors. Shade is present thanks to the natural trees. While not a dedicated dog park, canines are welcome and the park is useful for a quick stop to burn off energy with your pet while traveling through Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Stopped off the interstate with some lunch to run around with our toddler and dog. The equipment was nice, but the park needs some love. The grass was high (hiding a few ant piles), there was quite a bit of trash around, and all of the gates had bent latches so they couldn’t be closed meaning small kids may try to run into the parking area. There was a basketball court and a pavilion with picnic tables. There is no bathroom, only a portapotty, so be prepared!
This playground is unsafe and gross. I will never understand why people leave their hazardous trash where children play, when there are multiple trashcans available. And where are the workers to clean this dump up? Came here once and will never return.
Edited to add: keep a sharp eye on your children if you do choose to come here, though I’d advise you not. This is right on a popular road with creeps able to come in and be weirdos around your kids.
Little run down. Playground equipment was okay. It was kind of rusty in some parts, but overall not bad. Sitting areas around the playground were littered with lots of glass so if you stop just passing through to let your dog or kids run around just be aware to be watchful where they’re at. We were traveling through and it wasn’t too far off the highway so it was nice to let the kid burn off some energy at least.
Nice traditional playground. Things are old and rusty but a nice place for kids to burn some energy. There is a pavilion with tables and chairs and a few benches by trees with shade depending on time of day
We found a tree star at the playground today.
We were looking for a place to let the kids run. It was well kept. The only thing I didn’t like was the bottom steps on everything were really high. It was hard for my kids to climb up to get on the equipment.
The shade parking is limited and seems to be popular so caution if you leave your windows down when you park and think you are alone. It won’t last long.
