Located on the scenic shores of Mooselookmeguntic Lake in Oquossoc, Maine, Haines Landing Boat Launch offers a peaceful spot for local dog owners seeking access to nature and water. While primarily a boat launch, this spot features clean surroundings and convenient lake access, making it a great place for a quick break during your adventures in the Rangeley Lakes Region. The area is quiet and residential, providing a calm location for leashed dog walks, and is ideal for those seeking dog-friendly trails or a pet-friendly day trip outdoors near Oquossoc.
Though the turnaround space is limited and parking is not directly at the launch (parking is available about a quarter mile east on Carry Rd near the Bald Mountain hiking trail lot), the beautiful lake views and easy access to outdoor activities make this park stand out. Haines Landing is best suited for dog owners looking for water access and scenic relaxation, rather than dedicated dog park amenities. Always remember to keep the area clean and be mindful of local residents as you enjoy this pet-friendly spot!
Good boat launch. Parking is a ways.
Scenic spot. Has ramp, docks, and fuel. Parking lot is a quarter mile east on Carry Rd (labeled on Google Maps).
Stopped here on the bike for a quick break. Really residential area, keep your pipes quiet and be good. Field strip your cigs and put it back in your pack too.
Clean, easy access. Please beware that you cannot park here. Parking is about 1/10th of mile down the street in the lot to Bald Mountain hiking trail.
Good access to Mooselook Lake. Too bad the turnaround is too small for most rigs. You have to use a road close by to back in, must get crazy at busy times. Worse, the parking is a few hundred yards away. It’s a great lake so just accept the hassle.
