🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Located in Ontario, Ohio, Maize Memorial Dog Park is a well-maintained, wheelchair-accessible park offering fun, exercise, and socialization for dogs and their owners. This dog park in Ontario features separate areas for large and small breeds, making it easy for all dogs to play safely. Picnic tables and benches are provided, and the park is adjacent to scenic pet-friendly trails and a disc golf course for those looking to extend their outdoor adventure.
Visitors appreciate the park’s cleanliness, friendly community, and expansive fenced areas—though it’s important to note that shade is limited, especially on the large dog side, so plan to visit during cool hours or bring your own shade in the summer. There’s a combined water fountain with human and pet access, and waste stations are consistently stocked, helping everyone keep the park clean. For Ontario locals looking for dog-friendly hiking and a welcoming environment for their pups, Maize Memorial Dog Park is a top pick!
Great fenced area. There is absolutely no shade. And no water supplied to the dog areas.
The better parks have three distinct areas, rather than two. And each section had its own water spigot. At that one the locals would buy cheap kiddie pools to get the dogs some summer time relief.
As it is now in the heat of summer it won’t be doable unless you bring your own canopy. And make sure you bring that water and water bowl.
The shade be either an awning or shade trees, water spigots, and dividing the big area so there can be three categories instead of small and not small areas. That’s what would give this 5 stars.
Best time to come here on hot or going to be hot days is early morning. Otherwise the sun and heat heat the dog too much.
Generally clean and upkept well. Lots of “friends” for my dogs to play with. Good exercise.
Our dogs love the place! So do we, there’s a sweet set of trails and a disc golf course in the woods beside the park. Great spot!
Only downfall, big dog side has NO shade, for ppl or pups. And there are like 3 benches
BUT
Well maintained, clean, and welcoming dog park. You and your pup will have fun!!!!!MAJOR plus, the park is bud up against a trail.
Bigger side for larger breeds and another smaller side for small breed and older pups.
Water fountain is open again(was closed during the pandemic) with human and pup water access.
Poop bags are finally starting to be consistently refilled by the maintenance so ppl are cleaning up after themselves(although you should clean up after your dogs anyway)
Been going for some time now and have not had any issues with unruly, aggressive, or uncontrollable dogs!
Rowan and I LOVE taking our daily trips to Maze Memorial Dog Park! It’s a great place to escape and run out some energy. 🐶🐾🌳🌸
