We had a lake front side and after walking the whole park we are sure it’s the best site!! Great views and easiest lake access. The kids never left the water. The swimming area is small and nothing but crushed shells, we had a much better time swimming and fishing from our site!! Hosts were nice, great to talk to and they made smores. The wood bundles are all bark tho and the Rangers are rude, cleaning VAULT toilets at 12:30am. They let people check in at 11pm… that shine their headlights into your tent for an hour while they set up their tent and air mattress. Then don’t tell the kids to stop throwing HUGE rocks into the swimming area (same rude late arrivers).
We had a great time camping here. The lakefront site was amazing. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are awesome!
Very cool state park for camping. Love that you can set up camp within feet of the lake in the lower area. I much prefer a more rustic campground, but this was nice, and the lake right outside my tent made it worth it. There are houses on the lake since it’s a more populated area. The restaurant right outside the campground has amazing food. You are also close to Ocqueoc Falls, 40 Mill Point Lighthouse, which are very cool to check our as well as Knaebe’s Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm. Great donuts and pizza there. 4 stars, only because it’s not as rustic as I prefer and the sites are close together.
It’s a wonderful park. The campsites are big. You don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. They have a shower house.
Great park on all recreation Black Lake. Lots of great businesses nearby. Big play areas for kids. Has a boat launch to launch your boats. Lots of room for kayaking. There is a cute cabin with many amenities and a large fire pit area. There is a community fire pit area overlooking the water.
There is usually a host to host activities but there is not one currently when we went .
It has a beach area to go swimming at or some of the lower numbers sites you can walk right off your campsite. But it is rocky so ..some may want to use water shoes
