Tomahawk Hills Park in northwest Omaha, Nebraska, is a popular neighborhood destination offering open green spaces perfect for leisurely dog walks and playtime. With a well-maintained paved trail running along a scenic creek, this park provides pet-friendly walking and jogging opportunities while enjoying the peaceful ambiance and natural shade from mature trees. The park is ideal for families and locals looking for a relaxing environment to walk their dogs, play frisbee, or simply enjoy a quiet outdoor escape in Omaha.
While Tomahawk Hills Park is not a dedicated off-leash dog facility, it features several amenities such as shaded benches, picnic tables, and playgrounds. There’s plenty of open space where dogs on leashes can stretch their legs, as well as activities for kids like playgrounds, swings, and courts for tennis and basketball. The park is known for being clean and well-kept throughout the seasons, though dog owners should note that the pond is not suitable for swimming and there are limited trash bins available. Ample street parking and peaceful surroundings make this park a local Omaha favorite for dog-friendly outings.
I am 60 years old and when I was young my brothers and sisters used to walk to this park all the time. I remember having activities in the park during the summer. Love the photos that bring back happy memories.
I attended St James school until we moved when I was 12.

I grew up in this neighborhood as a kid. I always come back, to see what has changed. The park has changed to. The entrance gate has been removed
Nice park and tennis court. Friendly to skaters looking for a smooth place to skate and kids looking for a playground.
I love this little park! There’s a nice green space for letting your dog run around, tossing around a frisbee or playing catch. The playground and tennis courts are a little outdated, but they are still usable. My toddler enjoys the equipment regardless of it’s age! They have four swings there, one of which is a baby swing. We go here often!
