Wanted a quick walk and found this trail. Due to the heat wave, I got here early to enjoy the shade and the cool breeze. The walk won’t take long and there are a lot of good views from the top. Make sure you cover your legs and arms to avoid ticks as there are a lot of high grasses and dangling stems during the walk.

We were looking for something short and easy compared to the fire tower hikes and this trail was perfect. About 2 miles with just a bit of elevation gain, about 200 feet overall. Trail was well maintained and easy to follow. There was some nice diversity throughout the trail, a few nice lookouts for mountain views, and we enjoyed checking out the ruins from the old quarry.

Lovely short trail with some relatively steep inclines, but should be an easy walk for those with good balance. Two excellent vistas and much explosive greenery in the spring/early summer. Parking is somewhat limited.

This is a nice short trail that is easy to navigate and doesn’t have any harsh elevation gains. We didn’t realize we were at the top of the Quarry until we were at the bottom looking up. There is an informational post at the bottom to help you get an idea of its size, which is helpful because since nature took over its hard to imagine the size of the endeavor. There were also a lot of nice things like a view, mushrooms, and old ruins to see which made for a full adventure.
