Tinker AFB FamCamp offers a welcoming retreat for RV owners—including pet owners—looking for a convenient and dog-friendly location in Oklahoma City. With about 30 sites set in a small, green park with a pond, the campground features level spots, full hook-ups, picnic tables, public restrooms, and hiking paths that are great for dog-friendly strolls. The park is praised for its cleanliness, beautiful walkways, and easy access for RVs, making it a solid stop for travelers with dogs.
What sets Tinker AFB FamCamp apart is its dedication to maintaining a pleasant RV and camping experience. There are convenient onsite amenities like a laundry room, barbecue grills, a mini exchange, and even a Domino’s next door. The campground has accessible parking and entrances, so families with children and dogs will find it easy to get around. While dogs are welcomed, owners are expected to clean up promptly after their pets, and the camp does not feature a specific fenced dog park or off-leash area—leash rules apply at all times.
Linda is a gracious host. We enjoyed our stay. Be sure to arrive before sundown. And if possible, not on a holiday!
Host was hostile and unpleasant during our stay. She threatened to kick us out if we didn’t pick up our dog’s poop as soon as it hit the ground. Would not recommend staying there if she remains the host.
This rv park is not for more than a day or two. Very small sites and be prepared to have to move your tow vehicle for adjoining rv to get in its spot. If you have a dog I would pass this camp all together. The camp host knows little about making someone feel welcome. She acts more like military police not a camp host.
The campground was clean and offered full hook ups. It’s a smaller fam camp with only about 30 sites. The U- shaped park combined with the parking layout made it challenging to navigate with a larger rig.
The sites are fairly level and have a picnic table. The campground is set on pond with park. Nice walkways for humans and dogs. Laundry room with 3 washers and dryers. 50¢ for each use. Bathrooms and ice maker. Library share. Mini exchange/gas station and Dominos next door.
Definitely go through Gott (truck) gate if you have a large rig and don’t depend on the GPS not to route you through the base to get there. Ours took us through the main gate to “get to” Gott gate – not helpful LoL and watch out for the speed bumps in the camp, they are bone rattling in a truck.
Great RV park, clean and green, with a little lake. Spots are leveled with full hookups, good Verizon and T mobile. Very clean laundry room. The camp host is very nice and helpful.
