Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Ogden City Dog Park is a popular off-leash dog park in Ogden, Utah, providing local pet owners with a fun and secure environment for their furry companions. The park boasts multiple large, fenced areas, with at least four separate sections so owners can find the best fit for their dog’s temperament and size. Visitors appreciate the agility equipment for training, the open space for exercise, dog-friendly hiking and natural trails, and the fact that pet-friendly river access is available nearby for a post-play swim and rinse.
Dog owners enjoy the relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere—ideal for socializing pups, with thoughtful amenities like water spigots for filling water bowls, provided poop bags, and trash cans to keep the park clean. While the park can get muddy after rain and would benefit from more grass and maintenance, it’s a favorite local spot for letting dogs off leash and cooling down in the river. The presence of shaded spots, seating, and nearby pet-friendly trails makes this one of the best dog parks in Ogden, Utah for exercise and outdoor fun with your canine companion.
The park itself is a nice space and generally a good spot for dogs to get exercise. Most dog owners here understand that not every interaction between dogs is perfect, and usually people handle situations calmly.
Unfortunately, my recent visit was stressful because another owner reacted very aggressively when our dogs had a brief barking/snapping exchange. For context, I was actively using my dog’s recall remote (which she can hear and feel vibrate, and listens to 99% of the time), but even then I was unfairly cursed at and blamed.
These things can happen even with well-trained, friendly dogs, and usually the best approach is to stay calm and separate them-which is exactly what I did. It was really upsetting to be yelled at for keeping calm and in control. The park itself is good, but be aware that your experience can really depend on the other owners who happen to be there that day.

The dog park could use a little love, but they have plenty of stuff like to train your dogs. They have separate parts for different dogs. They have at least one to three. It looks like four different areas so you don’t have to make sure your dogs up.

There are multiple areas for you to let your dogs off and several have water that can fill up a bowl for the dogs. There is also poop bags and trash cans on site to clean up after your pup. For the most part owners are in tune with their animals but always keep an eye on your as well as others. Overall great place to let your dogs off and then take a dip in the river to cool off.

Needs grass, very muddy. But has a fun area to play with other dogs and go up and down the hill. Has a few fenced off areas for dogs to run around in. There was a river/creek nearby that I was able to rinse my dog of the mud.

I like coming here. The park is fun and it seems like all the dogs enjoy it. We also like to go down to the river for a swim afterwards. I only wish that everyone would contribute in picking up their dog’s waste. It’s not only gross but it also spreads diseases. Please pick up your dog waste people! And please pick up your trash too! Let’s keep it clean!
