I was a member from 2007 to 2016 with my last dog. Just rejoined with my new girl. Yes, you do need to pay to join, but it is worth the price. It puts some safeguards in place, not to mention access to fresh water and trash removal and periodic landscaping/cleanups. You just need proof of rabies vaccine and a valid dog license. I believe most of this can be done online before you arrive. Check out the website for details.

Lots a fun for the pups. Plenty of people and dogs. Great place to socialize your pet. I always meet great and caring dog people here.

This is a Cape May County Park that requires a pass. The pass requires documentation of rabies vaccination and licensure plus a fee with a filled in application form. The pass is required to exit as well as to enter the park.
The park is a secure place to play with dogs. There is a large-dog area, a small-dog area, and a separate run, each with a double gate unleashing entrance . Poop bags and trash cans are provided.

Like everything else in this city, inaccessible without jumping through hoops. Passes are needed from city hall which is on the other side of the island and closed today.

We have our vax documents ready to go. Have someone on site ready to vet them. Why on the other side of the island?

Requiring a NJ state dog license is nothing but a money grab and adds nothing on top of the vax requirement other than being another arbitrary hoop to jump through.

Charging money for a pass is another money grab. All these huge houses can’t cover the cost of a dog park with their property taxes? It’s nice but not that nice.

The icing on the cake for me, who grew up across the bridge; literally everything and everywhere on the island is not dog friendly. No allowed on beach, not allowed on boardwalk, now allowed in city or state parks, etc. You cannot give the dogs one single place to exist that isn’t a sidewalk?

There is nowhere for a responsible dog owner to to be a responsible dog owner in this town.
