Located in the heart of Oakton, Virginia, Blake Lane Park offers a convenient dog park for local pet owners looking for a green space to let their dogs exercise and socialize. The park is known for its open fields, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly community of regular dog owners. While it may not be as developed as some other local parks, Blake Lane Park remains a valuable neighborhood space for pets and owners alike.
Blake Lane Park features a functional off-leash dog area, surrounded by greenery and adjacent to a soccer field, making it easy to enjoy both dog-friendly activities and family outings. Although it lacks extensive amenities such as water fountains and specialized dog areas, the park is praised for its ample street parking and shade from mature trees. Its recent preservation as a dedicated park ensures it will remain a pet-friendly haven for residents in the Oakton area.
This is a small park in a nice neighborhood. There are usually kids playing soccer. The dog park is functional and is visited by friendly dogs and dog owners. Additional street parking is available.

UPDATE: Yay! Our beautiful little neighborhood park is saved! It has now been turned over to the Fairfax County Park Authority and will remain a park. Thanks to .all who helped make this happen.
Fairfax County and the School Board want to destroy this park and build yet another school here rather than find other alternatives and save our I park. It’s our only remaining green space and because it’s such high density housing all around it’s our community backyard. It’s a great place not only for dogs but for all people who live here or travel here to walk, run and play, or just to relax, de-stress and commune with nature. Fairfax County committed to the National 10MinuteWalk program for building a future with access to parks for ALL communities within a 10 minute walk (avg 1/2 mile). We can already walk to 4 schools from here and if they decide to build a 5th school on the Park site there will be no green space left to fulfill the 10MinuteWalk commitment, or for people in the community to decompress in a safe and healthy environment. Blake Lane Park is probably about the best part of living here in this part of Oakton. With all the issues of climate change, CO2, pollution, etc balanced by the healthy affects of trees and green space, it is more important than ever that this park remain here as such, a park and nothing else.

Blake Lane Park consists of a soccer field, a dog park and a large grassy area. It is not developed like many of the other parks in northern Virginia. It is a convenient location to enjoy some green space and perhaps fly your kite or bring the dog to the dog park. Part of the park is actually under consideration for an elementary school location and there is current on going discussion as to if it will actually remain a park. The only reason I give it only four stars is because most of the other parks are way more developed and Blake Lane offers only a bit over a green space.

Nice hotel in many ways. Near national’s park. I gave it a hard time for the marginal cheapskate breakfast. They could do a lot better. BTW, the valet parking group was very accommodating.

Went to the dog park. It had not been mowed in quite a while and while it reported having water access online it did not. My dog usually loves dog parks but seemed unhappy at this one. Most of the regular people actually take their dogs over to the soccer field off leash despite no fence and a major road nearby. Not the kind of area I want to take my dog to in the future.
