Oakland best park by far
Most of the non native Oaklanders don’t know about this discreet park with elevation gain. Those palmes trees are majestious and as the Mayor said back to 2016, there is there the most beautiful public bathroom
Maxwell Park is a well-loved and used suburban park next to a daycare and an elementary school.
It’s unusual in that it’s got a sandpit with a playhouse for the toddlers as well as some swings, picnic tables, bathrooms.
the main area has lots of shade coverage from some trees and there is a second playground up the hill with a more play structures for younger kids.
Came to eat takeout here as we traveled through Oakland. The park provided some shade. There were restrooms but we didn’t access them. The swings were a plus. The location felt safe. Street parking.
Not much of an atmosphere but definately suits your child’s needs. Two regular swings and two baby swings are off to the side of the park. In the middle ground there’s a sand area with a small house for toddler play and a larger play structure for older kids with a decent slide. Also, a couple tables for small gatherings.
