Beautiful dog-friendly trail with year round creek. Tree canopy makes it a nice walk on hot sunny days and provides cover during the rainy season.

The official parking lot is through the apartment complex, don’t be thrown by their “no trespassing” signs, passing through seems to be fine.

Uphill, wide, gravelly and pretty sunny/unshaded for at least the first half mile. My old dog made us turn back, ha ha. Lots of friendly folks and dogs at 4pm on a Monday!

It’s a really nice trail for when you’re not looking for a super long hike. There are usually people walking their dogs and snakes like to come out in the summer to sun bathe. You will see flowers, the creek when there’s enough water, and there’s a sign at the beginning with some animals you may see on the trail.

The hike itself was gorgeous. Huge old Oaks shade the well marked and beaten trail, water trickled on one side, and there was enough elevation gain and loss to make it enjoyable. The cons are many but they don’t overshadow the natural beauty and sense of being enveloped by Nature. Cons; Small parking lot with no restroom, popular with the professional dog walkers, poop and poop in bags galore, used toilet paper from the ladies who needed to go

One of the best dog hikes in the east bay. It’s quick but if you hustle you can break a sweat.
