King Estate Open Space Park offers pet-friendly trails and sweeping views of the Bay, making it a popular choice for locals seeking a dog park in Oakland, California. Known for its open, natural setting at the top of the East Bay foothills, this park boasts a beautiful sunset vantage point and provides plenty of space for dogs and owners to enjoy the outdoors together. Dogs are welcome throughout the area, and you’ll often find friendly locals walking their pets and enjoying the dog-friendly hiking paths.
The park features one main asphalt trail, though it’s somewhat rugged and not ideal for strollers or wheelchairs. While the space is welcoming to both dogs and children, visitors are advised to keep an eye on young kids due to natural, uneven terrain. There is no clear sign of a fenced or designated off-leash dog area, so be attentive to leash requirements. The community values cleanliness, so please pick up after your pets to help keep the park inviting for everyone!
I’m a local resident and I love this place. Keep it clean. Don’t leave dog Shit around.
It is fun I highly recommend going. I like riding my bike with my cousin just dont brong kids und under 4 it a bit dangerous
What a spot for hiking or enjoy the view… or both !! 😉
Great little piece of foothills with nice views of the bay. One fairly broken up asphalt trail so not for wheelchairs or strollers. Connects neighborhood to school but school gates are locked. Seems safe and generally nice people walking dogs or strolling around.
Beautiful sweeping view of the Bay, from Mt.Tam to the peninsula, all while sitting on top of East Bay. Great place to catch the sunset, or spot the airplanes landing/taking off from SFO and OAK
