Located on Taunton Ave in Norton, MA, the L.A. Foster Wildlife area offers pet-friendly trails and natural beauty for local dog owners seeking a serene outdoor experience with their pups. Known for its scenic and tranquil environment, this spot is a popular destination for informal dog-friendly hiking and walks, especially in the spring. It’s a hidden gem for those looking to enjoy the outdoors with their pets in the Norton, Massachusetts area.
Dog owners should be aware that the area may have overgrown vegetation during certain times of year, and there is signage indicating the presence of poison ivy. Reviews also note that ticks can be common, so proper precautions such as tick repellent are highly recommended. As there is no mention of a fenced dog park or specific dog amenities, this location is best for leashed walks and hikers accustomed to raw, natural settings. Always check your pets for pests and respect local wildlife and plant life as you explore.
Admittedly beautiful this time of year (early May), but quite a bit overgrown, and full of ticks and poison ivy (there is a sign to warn you about the ivy). My dog had 3 large deer ticks crawling on him when we had only gone about 100 feet in. We had to turn around, unfortunately. The Off that I put on seems to have kept me tick-free, but I wouldn’t recommend bringing your canines.
